our first day

I just wrote this entire thing and the. The app crashed when I tried to publish it. 😫

I realized I need to save periodically in case the internet crashes!

We are staying in the cutest little place, Hotel Berc. When we got here the owner was away so there was a note to call his number and a phone out. We called and he told us he'd be back in 15 minutes but we should go behind the desk and grab the key to room 3 and let ourselves in!

Our host Nico also told us there is a fridge with beer and pop and it works on the honour system. If you take one, write a note and leave it there so you can pay for it at the end. They also have free loaner bikes and umbrellas. Just take one and bring it back when you're done!

When we got here we were totally exhausted and headed straight to bed. We had an hour and a half nap and when we woke up at 2:30pm the rain had stopped. The rest of the day was cloudy, but not overcast. We video chatted with the kids (a bit of a struggle with sketchy internet) and then went out to get something to eat. We hadn't eaten since breakfast and we were starving.   We found a supermarket and literally jus grabbed the first thing we saw because we were so hungry!

We the. Set off to explore Bled. Bled is a little village on a lake. There is a path along the lake that's about 5.5 km. The lake is surrounded by the alps and there is one tiny island out in the middle of it with the cutest little church!  Then there is a castle high above looking down on it all. It is the cutest place. We hadn't intended to do much today but since the weather cleared and it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow we figured we'd do the wal around the lake. It took us about 2 hours with MANY photo breaks!

 

 

 

 After our walk we headed back to the hotel to regroup. We video called Jon and Kate who are having fun following along with us since they did this same trip in their honeymoon last year!

 

Since it wasn't raining we wanted to find somewhere with a view of the lake and castle for dinner. We found the perfect place!

Sorry guys I have to end it there. Internet is giving me problems saving. I will try to finish it tomorrow but right now I'm exhausted!  9:30pm now (3:30pm for you guys) but I'm off to bed!  Hopefully we aren't up at 3am totally refreshed!
