Korcula
Today we were up bright and early to catch our 7:40 ferry from Split to Korcula. The ferry is a speedy catamaran. It was quite nice!

The water is so clear!

We arrived just after 10:00 and our AirBNB host Sanja picked us up. We are staying at the same place Jon and Kate stayed when they were here last year. It is a bit far from town and we usually like to be central but in this case thebqalk is so beautiful and the view from our awesome balcony is so incredible that it makes it worth the 15-20 minute walk and 126 stairs right at the apartment!

Once we got settled at our apartment we were hungry. So we did the 20 minute walk into town. The walk is really pretty!

And you know the saying: when in Korcula do as the Asians do! The food on this trip has been excellent but no matter what you get a bit tired of pizza, pasta, sandwich from grocery store, repeat! We spotted an awesome looking Asian place and ordered our food with an awesome view of the ocean! The food was up there with the best of the trip. Trev got a red curry dish and I got Chinese fried chicken with a spicy sauce and rice. So, so good! Just delicious!

We walked through the old town. Korcula doesn't have many sights to see. Just the ambience of the town itself.

After wandering we walked back to our apartments, got our bathing suits and walked to the beach which is a 2 minute walk away from our apartment. The sun was glorious! The water was beautiful! And the snorkling was awesome!

The water is so clear!
As soon as the sun began to move, we were suddenly in The shade and it started getting cool so we headed back to our room. We showered off (the ocean makes you so sticky!) and now we are having a drink in the room and enjoying the view from our balcony while we wait for it to be late enough to head to a nearby restaurant for dinner. We are going to try to time that dinner with the sunset. We are going to a restaurant halfway between us and Korcula, as recommended by Jon and Kate!

We are back now from dinner. It was an interesting dinner. We walked down to the very atmospheric beach bar/restaurant. We found a cozy seat to watch the sunset. We went to order a cocktail and this is when the very friendly waiter told us that they are closing for the season in 2 days and that they didn't have their full menu. So we tried to order a fin and tonic - no tonic. Mojito? No mint. The waiter recommended a drink that turns out like a strawberry daquari. It was delicious.
We the. Tried to order about 10 things on the menu which they didn't have. But the palace was so atmospheric and our waiter so friendly that we wanted to stay! We started with some marinated olives. We laughed when he brought them out. How could 2 people possibly eat that many olives? There must have been 60 olives!
