first evening in Ljubljana

Well as seems to be the theme here, I'm awake and Trev's asleep!  I actually had a good sleep last night but I woke up when Trev got up to go pee at 6am and couldn't fall back asleep. Meanwhile I can  get up, have a shower, church bells chiming, and Trev is still fast asleep!

Last night after writing in here we went out to find some supper. Ljubljana at night is just spectacular. I love it. The main square is bustling. There are tons of people out and about. There is a river that runs through the town and lining it are just a million restaurants, every one with a slightly different atmosphere, all with tables outside. 

We walked along the Ljublijanica river and checked out about 30 different restaurants until we found the perfect one!  The food was good and the ambience was perfect!  Trev got gnocchi with curry sauce and I got homemade ravioli. I also got a fantastic drink that was passion fruit juice and sparkling wine. So good!

 

 

 

 

 

 

After supper we strolled around a bit and then got a gelato. Can you believe we have been in Europe for 3 days already and this is our first Gelato!  😳
 

Our internet is so much better here than in our last hotel. When we got back we called home. We were finally able to chat with the kids without the internet cutting out a million times last night. All is well at home and the kids are having fun with Grandma and Grandpa!  I have to say though it seems pretty weird calling home at 10pm to chat with the kids (they were having an after school snack). 

There is a market just outside our hotel so we are going to go out there and find some breakfast!
