Dubrovnik

We got up early and decided to do the walk from our room into town even though it was 25 minutes. This is where packing light comes in handy. The walk allowed us to burn a few of the calories we've been eating off and was actually quite nice!  We had breakfast at a restaurant near the ferry dock. 

This is what I love about traveling. This was listed as bacon and eggs with sausage, beans and toast. The sausages turned out to be hotdogs, the bacon was cooked right into the eggs (quite delicious actually) and the beans were just plain kidney beans!

Today we took the ferry from Korcula to Dubrovnik. We got there at about 12:39. We walked over to our AirBNB. It is absolutely perfect. The location is right on one of the busiest main squares I. The old town, but our room faces a fairly quiet restaurabt in the back instead of the busy main square so it is quiet. Anywhere we walk, we are only minutes to get back to our room. Our host Blanka was super friendly and got us all set up!

She even had some homemade cherry brandy for us!

It is wuite hot here today (24C and feels a lot hotter. We went to the grocery store which is steps from our room to get some cold drinks and breakfast for tomorrow. 

And the. We went out to explore the old town. We did the Rick Steves walk and saw the I terstinf sites. 

There was a lot of interesting information about the recent war in Croatia. dubrovnik was very heavily damaged and has been rebuilt. 

We had a couple of pieces of leftover pizza from our dinner last night in Korcula so we had those for lunch. But it was a very small lunch. So we got a nice big gelato to make up for it. We went to a RS recommended gelato place which also had crepes. Anyone who knows me knows that I had to get the crepes. Eachnof these crepes was filled with gelato!
