DisneySea
Today probably isn’t going to be the most thrilling log post. We spent the day at Tokyo Disney Sea. It was an amazing day and really fun, but there’s probably not too too much to tell other than we went on a ride a lot of rides and ate a lot of food. It took us about an hour and 10 minutes to get there this morning. We had to take four different trains/subways. We’ve left our Airbnb at 6:10 AM and arrived around 7:30 AM The park opened at 9 AM so we were quite early, but there was already huge crowds when we arrived This is a picture of the Disney monorail, which was the last part of the train journey
Crowds when we arrived, I was trying to get a picture of Joel and Owen being very tall and over top of everyone in the line
After about an hour of waiting and eating our breakfast in line, they started the line going through security and we were through shortly after
This was curry, flavoured popcorn. They are crazy for popcorn here in the Japan Disney parks we saw soy sauce and butter, popcorn, caramel, popcorn, roast beef, popcorn, and this curry popcorn there were popcorn carts everywhere.
The Disney ears were so much cheaper than at the American parks these years that Anna and I got (Anna and Elsa) were the equivalent of $20.60 Canadian including all taxes. They would have been way more expensive at the American parks!
We saw way more characters than I feel like we’ve ever seen at the American parks
Jiminy cricket was my favourite character that we saw today
All of the shops for lunch and dinner have basically just one type of food at the restaurant trying to find something that everyone would like was difficult at the same restaurant much of the cuisine in Japan is heavily seafood based which our family isn’t really a fan of We ended up doing pizza and pasta today, which was perfect
Toy story alien mochi balls. We each got three, which were strawberry chocolate and custard.

There was an area with a pirate ship and a fortress, and you could explore all over and they had all kinds of different things to do in there. It was really fun.
Shooting ‘cannonballs’
Cutest little pirate kid
You could pay one hundred yen( a little under one dollar Canadian )to sail these little boats around
this is one of the newer rides with Rapunzel and the scene with 1 million lanterns was really cool
By this time, I wouldn’t say it was warm exactly but we were feeling thirsty and tired so we got some ice cream bars
There was only a five minute wait for the carrousel so we decided to do that
We tried this lemon soda turns out it’s basically just right
Duffy is a character that is huge in Japan that we don’t have in Canada. There’s Duffy everywhere all over the Japanese parks.
By this time it was about 5 o’clock, and the sun was starting to set and it was getting pretty cold again
The one thing I noted was how intense all of the people were at this Disney park. It was definitely 99.5% Japanese people with just an occasional non-Japanese tourist around. At least two out of three Japanese people in the park were wearing some sort of Disney ears or hats. They also almost all had about eight different Disney things hanging from their bags and outfits. They were very intense. We noticed that there were probably about 1% children at the park. It was 95% 18 to 28-year-olds. All completely dressed to the nines and doing TikTok‘s and poses and Instagram’s everywhere It was really crazy
All of the young women were wearing shorts, pleated skirts, and blazers They must’ve been absolutely freezing
Every group of girls was wearing exact matching outfits with exact matching Disney accessories
Literally almost every time you saw more than one girl they were wearing matching outfits head to toe These are some examples

| this was the very popular pleated skirt and blazer look these people are headed to toe Duffy |
One thing we hadn’t seen in the American parks were these hilarious fuzzy hats I guess because it’s winter in Japan and the American parks are in warm states which don’t really get winter they don’t sell these big furry hats but many many people were wearing huge furry hats with ears
We had dinner in this under the sea themed restaurant
At about 530 we all felt like we hit a bit of a wall. We were all cold and exhausted. We had already walked about 27,000 steps. There were three rides that we didn’t get to do that we didn’t want to soaring 20,000 leagues under the sea and journey to the centre of the Earth. The lines were just crazy. We bought as many fast passes as we could, but these ones sold out before we could purchase
There was just no way we were waiting in line for three hours for one ride
The last ride, we had a fast pass four was raging spirits. It’s a short roller coaster that has one loop and a few hills and twists and turns. Joel and Anna had never been on an upside down roller coaster Joel wasn’t 100% sure but decided he wanted to do it so we all went for it Lots of nervousness in the line, but everybody really enjoyed it. I think it was a great 1st upside down roller coaster.
This was so funny Joel and Trevor had to be. He checked to make sure they weren’t too tall to ride. The worker had to stand on a box that he could check their heads and wear. It lined up with the line. 😆

| Thumbs up to Raging Spirits |
Back up the room now over 30,000 steps today it’s 8:39 PM and I will likely be asleep in the next 20 minutes. I’m pretty sure all the kids are already asleep. Unfortunately, all three of them have a cold now and aren’t feeling 100% Definitely tough when we are not sleeping 100% and doing so much physical activity in a day Trevor and I have been waking up at 3:57 AM every night some nights when we’ve been able to get back to sleep but most nights we just sort of lay in bed resting until 5:30 or 6am. They we are so wiped out lights are out at 9pm. We should probably try to stay up until 11pm to help our bodies adjust better but we just can’t make it!!
Off to bed!

Popcorn! Black chunky loafers! Duffy! Fun day. Individuality is not huge in the Japanese culture and groups of people often dress the same - the blazer and pleated skirt could be a school uniform and perhaps Disney was a day trip or a group ditched school wearing their uniforms? Duffy reminds me of Rilakkuma - looks like the Disney rival to Sanrio. If you are still cold - Uniqlo Heat Tec! klr
