Cheap Flights

For our cruise in January (shhhhh...the kids don't know) I've been looking for a good price on a flight. It was all very confusing. We really wanted to fly out of Sudbury for convenience, but the flights were so expensive I didn't think we could. I had no idea when the best time to buy would be. I did some research and found two sites. kayak.com and yapta.com. I liked them both for different reasons. Both of them let you put search for a flight with certain criteria and they will send you emails when the price drops. If you've ever searched for flight prices before, you will know that prices jump all over the place. They may drop for a day (or sometimes just a few hours) and then go back up again. Getting the alerts helps you get the best prices without remembering to check every day. I had both of the alerts set and late last week I saw the Sudbury to Miami flight drop by about 40%! I jumped on it and booked. A few days later it went right back up again. Maybe it's not the cheapest it will be before January. I'm not sure. I'll keep watching. But I'm happy with what we ended up paying, and we get to fly out of Sudbury which will be way easier than driving. So if you are looking to book a flight, set up alerts on kayak and yapta!
